I fished off a friends boat 10/24, we set out to target striped bass on the bay.
We fished the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (CCNPP) early. We started off casting topwater along the shoreline but no luck there. We did notice that the water was gin clear, may had contributed to the poor bite on topwater. We then cast to the right side of the discharge plum. Catching two fish there. Mid 20s in size. We then did a couple of drifts without luck.
Then we headed over to Punch Island. Fishing the jetties again without luck. But we spotted a few fish breaking and a few birds over them. This was at the end of the last jetty. Catching three or four fish there.
Then off to fish the bridge at the Honga, we caught the majority of the fish there. We did drifts under the bridge. Catching a few fish, make a run back under the bridge and look at the meter for fish and repeat. The fish moved around, we would look between the piling and if we found fish wed do a drift. The fish were in the shade of the bridge.,/p>
We then fished the cut, catching addition striped bass there.
We were catching on Shad raps and 3/4-1oz jigs dressed with paddle tails and/or fluke/eels.
I believe we caught a total of 32 to 34 fish between the three of us. Biggest was 23" most were 21/22"
