I fished the pond in Charles County on 3/4 but not hunting for crappie. My plan was to target largemouth bass. I ended up catching 15 crappie and three bluegill. Once I started catching them, I realized that there were bluegill and crappie eating bugs off the surface.
I only had a few small jigs with me and some plastics. But, I had no bobbers. So I went looking and found a bobber floating along the shoreline. Placing the bobber about 24 above a shad dart I had ( which I later lost to a tree). Casting, letting the bait settle then repeating the process until I found a pattern.
I was catching on shad dart, and small yellow and small white twister tails on a micro jig. I fished from noon til 3:00.
