Mason Springs (Mattawoman Creek)

I fished Mason Springs on 3/18 & 3/20 and was catching hickory shad and I caught a blueback herring too. The best time to fish is at the top of an out going tide. I heard of up to 40 fish being caught in a few hours early in the day on the 18th.

The bite has slowed some, I was only catching a few fish on the 20th. But the Osprey were out hunting, and very successfully. The bite will pick up over the next few weeks.
