Blue Catfish
Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Indian Head
On Thursday, 6/13 my kids and I where fishing in the area of Indian Head Base close to the Ensign Robert Brooke marina. We had some good luck and caught several nice blue cats. The largest of them ate some fresh cut perch. Chicken gizzards on a Santee rig was the next best bait. We also caught one with Uncle D's catfish nuggets. The small perch was caught in the shallows with some lug worms. Our largest catfish was about 26 inches. The smaller one my son caught and we joked how mine could have ate his for lunch. We also caught an even smaller cat, but it was too small for us.
