Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (CCNPP)

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant

I fished the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant 11/19 with friends Dennis Fleming and Cal Weirich. We left the ramp at Solomons at 12:30pm returning after dark at 5:30pm.

We caught over 40 striped bass, most were in the faster water up near the discharge pipe.

The average size was a 20-23 inch fish. The biggest fish was caught by Dennis, at 31”, we caught two under slot fish and two puppy drum as well on 1oz jigs with five inch plastics. Dennis upsized his bait to a 1.5oz jig w/7” plastic, without any luck. He didn’t start catching again until he switched back to the smaller jig.
