Muskie caught in Monocacy River
Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Monocacy River
Hello. I was fishing in the Monocacy River last weekend and I caught an absolute giant Muskie. I didn’t even know there could be a fish like this in that river. It was 44”, it actually might have been an inch or two longer. All I had was a little retractable tape measure and I was having a hard time handle the fish. It weighed 29.55 lbs. I caught it on a little ned rig while fishing for smallies on 8 lb line. It took me almost a half hour to get it in. I had to chase it down river to prevent it from spooling me. I am still shocked and in complete awe of this magnificent fish. Any way, I thought you all would like to know about. I’ll send a few pictures I got of it. I sat with in the shallow water for probably five minutes and it got its strength back and it swam off strong. Truly the fish of a lifetime.
