Snakehead

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Potomac River

On Monday 11 July 2011 I caught this 30 inch 15 pound Snakehead in the Potomac River near the mouth of the Dyke Marsh. I was casting a zoom black lizard with a blue fleck tail, weightless near a group of lily pads. I had just previously caught a nice 4 pound bass, which had put up a surreal fight and thought I had landed a larger bass. Needless to say this beast gave me a fight to remember. Invasive or not you cannot deny the snakehead makes a very worth opponent.
