Hickory Shad on the Mattawoman

Yesterday (3/22) around 9:11 am I received a text from a friend who said that a friend of his caught shad on the Mattawoman in the morning. Well I hadn�t planned to fish then, but by 9:19 I was heading down the road.

Once I arrived, there were quite a few cars in the lot. Yellow perch fishers. Actually, the same set of anglers I�ve seen over the past several days there. Still taking a few perch.

I caught 13 shad in the span of two hours. The run is just getting started..
