Public outreach activities include:

seeing and talking about aquatic nuisance species.
making fish prints of invasives and other fish to learn more about their body form.
learning how to bow fish with Captain Bill Bates, Southern MD Bowfishing.
hearing more about how to fish using hook-and-line with Lena Sawyers (Maryland Department of Natural Resources).
learning how to fillet an invasive to eat by Branson Williams (Maryland Department of Natural Resources).

10:00 am - NSH free samples (while supplies last)
10:00 am - Fillet Demo with MD DNR
11:00 am - Bowfishing with Captain Bates *(Group 3)
11:00 am - Fishing Demo with MD DNR
12:00 pm - Bowfishing with Captain Bates *(Group 4 )
12:30 pm - Bowfishing talk with Captain Bates *
1:00 pm - Fillet Demo with MD DNR
2:00 pm - Snakehead and Blue Catfish weigh-in
2:30 pm - Derby Winners and Door prizes announced!
*Important: Bowfishing demos are limited capacity; sign up at dock behind marina to reserve your spot. Group demos are 45 mins each.

How to Register:
Please register for the event by completing this Form (one form for each participant), whether fishing or not. Also, Please Remember to get your free raffle ticket at Check-in. Each registered person can receive a raffle ticket for a prize. Prizes for the fishing derby will be announced closer to the event.
