Potomac River Striped Bass

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Potomac River

On 6/8 I fished Point Lookout, my plan was to fish the Piankatank. Weather down there was sketchy. So I ran over to Piney Point because there was little to no tide moving. But I forgot they closed the ramp for a boat race. So I headed to Smith Creek, water was super dirty, east wind had it stirred up. Then I landed at Point Lookout, zip. No water movement. Buddy showed up after me. He scored a dink flounder a spot and a dink trout.

Then on 6/9 I fished off my friend Julians boat with our friend Gene. We launched out of Bushwood. First hitting the structure and rock pile out in the river off the launch. We worked our way up river, fishing various rock piles and structures as we moved north. Catching on 4 paddle tails on 1/2 jigs. And gulp jerk shads and bass assassins, on same weight jigs. Bigger fish on the bigger plastics. We caught and released a bit over 60 fish.
