Mattowoman Catfish

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Mattawoman Creek

Yesterday I fished the Potomac River around Mattawoman Creek. We targeted catfish and we caught em!! We were using cut bait on fish finder rigs. Our first bait hit the water and before we could set the rod down a monster had it. After a very good battle we boated a large blue, 34 inches long and 21 girth. Then, we caught channel cats til my arm was sore. We hit one more spot at around 7pm and nailed another Blue. This one was 39 inches long and had a girth of 28 inches. It was an excellent evening on the river. Mattawoman produced again, despite a strong NE wind. Cant wait to get back out!! Thanks for such an excellent site with such good information.
