Fresh bait is very important. It pays to remove and replace bait every 5 minutes or so if no fish bite. Often a fish hit right away when fresh bait is put out. Take a second to compare the washed out older bait to the fresh piece. Be sure to keep bait cool (on ice); few fish worth catching hit stinky bait!
