The total billfish landed this reason now stands at 25 with 5 blue marlin, 18 white marlin and 2 roundscale. The number of bluefin tuna stands at 430 and the bite for this species has slacked off considerably with none being reported to this office since late July. The average curved length for bluefin is 39.2 inches

The White Marlin Open was held August 8-12, and 21 billfish were boated. First place in the White Marlin Division went to Paul Coen who landed a fish weighing 88.5 pounds with a lower jaw fork length of 70.5 inches while fishing aboard the �Wee Wun IV�. In the Blue Marlin Division, John Schindler soldiered forth on the �Restless Lady� to bring in a magnificent fish weighing 699.5 pounds to claim fist place.
