National Trails Day Woodmont Trail Guided Hike |
Fort Frederick State Park 6/3/2017 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Location: 11761 Woodmont Road City: Hancock County: Washington Description: To celebrate National Trails Day join the park naturalist to explore the Wildlife Heritage Trail at Woodmont. Meet at the Trail Head parking lot along Woodmont Road at 9 am for this 2 hour hike. Please call 301-842-2155 for details. Sturdy hiking attire is suggested. Please bring plenty of water. There are no restrooms along the trail. Cost: Free Directions: Woodmont is located 15 minutes south from I-68 off of Woodmont Road. From Interstate 68, take exit 77. Turn left onto U.S. 40, then turn right onto Woodmont Rd. Follow for approximately 6 miles. Designed for athletes and amateurs alike, there is a 2-mile run, 10-mile bike and 1-mile canoeing challenge. Whether you're competing with others or setting your personal best, you're sure to have fun at this event! There are catagories for individuals, teams and parent-child with prizes for each. Colonial Children`s Day Fun and Games |
Fort Frederick State Park 6/3/2017 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Location: 11100 Fort Frederick Road City: Big Pool County: Washington Description: Children ages 8 to 12 will be transported back in time as they take part in a day of hands-on 18th century fun and games. Participants will experience how children entertained themselves during the colonial period, with games such as blind man's bluff and trap ball, and activities like kite making and musical entertainment just to name a few. Lunch is included. There is a fee and advanced registration is required and limited. Registration is limited to 20 children. Cost: Call for details.
