Meet with park staff and volunteers for opportunities on how to become a volunteer and house visitors can become involved in their local parks. Also find out about upcoming events and programs for the spring and summer. | Seneca Creek State Park 2/26/2017 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Location: 11950 Clopper Road City: Gaithersburg County: Montgomery Description: Learn fascinating facts about Eastern Bluebirds and how this species was saved by thousands of volunteer hosts across North America. If you'd like, following the presentation, stay to build your own nestbox or purchase a kit to take home. Bring $15 per kit (cash or check made out to Maryland Bluebird Society). Meet at the park office. Cost: $15 if building a nest box Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left. From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left.
