Spring Walks for Sprouts! |
Fair Hill NRMA 4/27/2017 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 5/4/2017 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Location: 630 Tawes Drive, Elkton MD 21921 City: Elkton County: Cecil Description: The Sprouts Program introduces children ages 2-4 to the wonder of nature through play. We will wander through wildflower meadows, explore majestic woods and learn about trees, bugs, birds and animals. Pack a lunch for you and your sprout. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Younger siblings are welcome to observe at no charge. However, our trails are not stroller-friendly. Hours are 9 am to 5 pm Thu, Fri, Sat and 9 am to 3 pm Sun. Sponsored by the Friends of Fort Frederick State Park. Cost: Admission Fee Charged. Directions: Take I-70 E to exit 12(Big Pool), turn right on MD-56 and go down 1 mile to the park on your right. Seneca Creek State Park 4/27/2017 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Location: 11950 Clopper Road City: Gaithersburg County: Montgomery Description: Meet at the Park Office: Take in the beauty of spring with a wildflower walk. Bring your identification guide (not required) to learn how to look for Seneca’s common springtime flowers. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Cost: No cost Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left. From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left. Bring a camera and take a walk through the fields afterward. Meet at the Peony Garden. Cost: Weekends only, $3 per Maryland resident, $5 per out-of-state visitor Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland.
