| Patapsco Valley State Park 1/1/2017 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Location: 11676 Marriottsville Road Marriottsville MD 21104 City: County: Carroll Description: Join park staff for a moderate, 2-mile hike along the McKeldin Area’s Plantation Trail. Enjoy scenic views of the river, wildlife, and winter vistas. Dress for the weather with sturdy shoes. Bring drinking water. The McKeldin Areas is located at 11676 Marriottsville Road, Marriottsville, MD 21104. After passing the ranger station, follow signs to the parking lot and trailhead. Call 410-461-5005 to register. Fun for all ages! Rain, snow, or shine! Cost: FREE; donations welcome. Directions: From I-695/I-70 West take I-70 to Marriottsville Rd. ( Exit 83). Go North on Marriottsville Rd. for 4 miles to the park entrance on the right. From I-70 East take Rt. 40 to Marriottsville Rd. Turn left. Park entrance is 5 miles on the right. From Rt. 26 take Rt. 26 to Marriottsville Rd. Go South 4 miles, park entrance is on the left. Enjoy alluring cascading waterfalls and dazzling winter hills and valleys! Afterward, warm up by the fireplace with hot coffee and cider at Pavilion 106. Bring the kids who aren't in school to the park for nature oriented crafts and activities. Activities vary each week! Cost: No Cost Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left. From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left.
