Discover fun facts about these important forest dwellers. Make crafts and play a fun game to test whether your memory is as good as a squirrel’s!Rain or shine! Call 410-461-5005 to register. Fun for all ages! Cost: $3/person. Directions: From I-695 (Baltimore Beltway), take Exit 13, Frederick Road west. follow for two miles and turn left on South Rolling Road. At first intersection, bear right in Hilton Avenue. Continue 1.5 miles and turn right into park. From I-95, take exit 47 (keep left on exit ramp), heading north (Route 166) to South Rolling Road. Follow 1.8 miles and make a sharp left on Hilton Avenue. Continue 1.5 miles and turn right into park. Seneca Creek State Park 1/21/2017 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Location: 11950 Clopper Road City: Gaithersburg County: Montgomery Description: Some animals hibernate in winter. Others survive the cold by building safe habitats and foraging for food. Join Seneca volunteers to learn about the animals that can be seen in the park throughout the cold months. Take a short walk afterward to search for animal tracks and see an active beaver lodge! Follow signs to the Bluejay/Nuthatch Pavilions. Cost: No Cost Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left. From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left. Gunpowder Falls State Park 1/22/2017 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Location: Intersection of Bottom & Guyton Roads (GPS Coordinates: 39.502803, -76.429336) City: Hydes County: Baltimore Description: Join park staff for a guided hike on a trail you may be unfamiliar with! We will be looking for signs of wildlife while enjoying the cold, crisp January air. Please wear warm clothes and sturdy shoes.
