We’ll walk at a leisurely pace on the paved Grist Mill trail for 2-3 miles.Shine only! Call 410-461-5005 to register. Geared toward parents with strollers. Cost: FREE; donations welcome. Directions: From the Beltway (I-695): Take Rt. 1 (exit 12A) toward Elkridge. Follow Rt. 1 South about 3 miles to South St. Turn right. Park entrance on the left. From I-95: Take I-195 East toward BWI. From I-195 take Rt. 1 South (Exit 3) and turn right toward Elkridge. Turn right onto South Street. Park entrance is on the left. From Howard County: Follow Rt. 1 through Elkridge and into Baltimore County. Turn left onto South St. Park entrance is on the left. | Seneca Creek State Park 1/8/2017 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Location: 11950 Clopper Road City: Gaithersburg County: Montgomery Description: Winter is a great time for birding since most of the foliage has gone away. Clear lines of sight offer birders unobstructed views of local wintering birds. Hawks, woodpeckers, and songbirds are readily visible as they forage for their survival during these cold months. Join an experienced birder to see what birds can be found in the park this winter! Binoculars are not required, but are recommended. All levels, beginner to experienced, are welcome. Meet at the Park Office. Cost: No Cost Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left. From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left.
